Welcome to our family practice. We sincerely endeavor to provide you and your family the best quality medical care. Our scope of practice includes primary medical care for all ages and comprises everything from obstetrics and pediatrics to adolescent, adult and geriatric medicine. We provide preventive health advice, minor surgery, and counseling in a wide array of medical and surgical techniques. Please ask us before seeking "special services" elsewhere.
Our doctors routinely refer to specialists when they cannot provide the services you need. Many health plans require prior authorization before you can see a specialist and also require you to use specific labs or x-ray services, even hospitals. Please try to be aware of specific requirements of your health plan. Our office personnel will assist you in obtaining the authorizations you need whenever possible.
We offer appointments 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phones are answered from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of a lunch break from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. each day. When making your appointment, please indicate to the receptionist the nature of your visit so that an adequate amount of time will be allowed to cover the issue at hand.
Call our office number first for all emergencies, except when any delay will endanger your health. A family practitioner is always available to assist you with the most appropriate response to your illness or injury. If you need to go immediately to the emergency room, the 24 hour emergency physicians will be able to initiate your care. Please check with your insurance company to determine which hospitals are contracted under your plan.
The telephone remains an essential part of medicine. Our staff makes every effort to screen your calls quickly and connect you with the person you request. They must necessarily decide the degree of urgency that your call requires depending on the circumstances, both at your end and ours. If you request a call back from the doctor, be aware that such calls are usually made during lunch hour or after office hours so as not to inconvenience patients with scheduled appointments. Medical questions may be handled by the nursing staff at the doctor's discretion.
For routine medications (blood pressure, heart, thyroid, and so on) you should phone your pharmacy at least 3 DAYS before you need your refill to insure our ability to make the authorization in a timely manner. Discuss with your doctor how often you need or want to be seen in this office so that refills can be granted appropriately depending on your particular problem. The doctors reserve the right to use their best judgment when prescribing medication refills by telephone.
Our Practice currently accepts PacifiCare, Cigna, ChampUs, Medicare, Health Net, Blue Shield, and most PPO plans. Currently we are NOT preferred providers for Blue Cross HMO.
Your co-payment will be collected at the time of the office visit. You will be expected to pay at each visit. If you have insurance, please present the appropriate card or proof of insurance coverage at each visit. Failure to provide us with adequate information will result in you being billed for the service directly and we may ask you to pay at the time of service. Once your claim is processed if you have any questions regarding billing please direct them to our billing office.
We must consider walk-in visits on a case-by-case basis; therefore, we prefer that you call in advance to schedule appointments. Our providers have "open access" scheduling which makes same day appointments a normal occurrence. If a walk-in occurs that is not an emergent matter we will definitely have to make an appointment for you to return at a later time and/or date.
We would appreciate your notifying our office as soon as you know you will be late or will have to cancel a scheduled appointment.
